Mumbai: Indian Premier League matches will be telecast live at multiplexes in the country.
Announcing this here on Tuesday, IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi said tendering for the telecast rights at multiplexes is in the process.
"It is an ongoing process and we have invited bids from the multiplexes. However, the multiplexes in the city in which the match is played will not show it live. For instance, a match in Mumbai can't be shown there," he said.
Modi also said the IPL is planning to have commentary in various languages to attract local fans.
"A person in Chennai can listen to the commentary in Tamil," he said.
