Dravid on top of the 'catching' world

Rahul Dravid has always been regarded as one of the finest fielders, especially in the slip region in the cricketing world, for most of his 13 years as an international cricketer. Therefore, it is only fitting that the former Indian captain has taken over the mantle of the maximum Test catches from Australia's Mark Waugh.

Dravid achieved the feat when he caught Tim McIntosh off the bowling of Zaheer Khan on the fourth day of the third Test against New Zealand in Wellington on April 6, 2009, to take his 182nd catch in the 134th Test match of his career. While Waugh played 128 Test matches in his career, Dravid equalled the former Australian batsman's world record in his 132nd Test when he caught Martin Guptill off Zaheer's bowling on the opening day of the first match of the series in Hamilton.

Dravid has taken 88 catches in 59 Tests played at home, while 94 of his catches, including the 182nd of his career, have been taken in 75 matches played on overseas grounds.

He has also scored over 10,000 runs in both Test cricket and one-day internationals. As Dravid celebrates his entry in to the record books, we take a look at the highlights of his fielding career over the years.
